JK ties the knot

June and Kevin (personally abbreviated as JK) got married at the Aberdeen Marina Club (AMC) in Hong Kong on Saturday 22 December 2012. We supported the planning of their big day remotely from London and we thank JK for the opportunity to be part of their celebrations.

The weather could not be better on the day, which began bright and early at June’s home in Clearwater Bay. Kevin and his team arrived promptly and successfully overcame challenges set by the bridal party – this is seen as a traditional way to ‘win over’ the bride. The tea ceremony followed, faciliated by Sabina from Lo Kan Fong Chinese Weddings, whereby June and Kevin presented tea to their elders, who in turn reciprocated them with blessings and gifts.

After lunch, the wedding party arrived at AMC for the afternoon wedding ceremony at the Marina Suite, followed by a drinks reception. A traditional Chinese evening banquet was held in the Grand Ballroom, where after a round of speeches and delicious food, June’s friends from college in Italy presented her with a congratulatory video and Kevin took to stage for a surprise performance on the ukelele. We were all moved by June’s happy tears!

The whole venue was decorated by our recommended partner, Nelson at aziza wedding design, who beautifully put together all floral decorations including pew ends, a matching tabletop for the ceremony, bridal bouquets and the lovely backdrop, under the theme of ‘classic elegance’ in pink, purple and white hues. It was a great collaboration working with our Hong Kong partners, and we look forward to creating more lovely memories in 2013.

Congratulations once again!
